Metro Parks Partnership Grows

10 January 2010 No Comment

IMBA-SORBA Middle TN has entered in to a formal relationship with Metro Nashville Parks and Recreation.  In a December 2009 Parks board meeting an “Annual Permit” was approved by the board.  Typically referred to as an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding), the Annual Permit will allow greater involvement and stewardship by our local chapter as well as enhance the trail experience.

Our chapter has submitted drawings and plans to update the lakeside trail kiosk and build a new trail info center at the Ned Shelton Pinnacle trail head by Spring 2010.  The current IMBA-SORBA Middle TN trail fund along with donated building materials and volunteer labor will make these enhancements possible.  New trail signs for the 12 miles of trail will be a great addition to the growing use of the trail system.  In order to develop the confidence and skills needed for new and intermediate riders, a skills course is also part of this project.

For more information or to attend a volunteer trail work day, please contact our trails director: trails@sorbamidtn.org
