Sept 25th, 2010 ~ National Public Lands Day, Shutes Branch

Details here:

2010 Public Lands Day work day at Shutes Branch MTB Trail.  We’ll have a good day making some new trail.  We’ll meet at 8:30 near the trail head and proceed over to the end of the current trail and start blazing new trail!
We should have plenty of tools and drinks, but bring a few of your own in case we run out.
Don’t forget your gloves and safety glasses.
After the work, we’ll have a cookout.  And a tour of the National Weather Service station on top of the hill.
After the tour, fun trail rides.  I hope to see a bunch of bikes on the trail.
And speaking of the trail, it’s only 3 weeks away – and we need to clean up the trail between now and the 25th.  Eric F. has already mowed the beginner trail.  The jungle and first part of the advanced section need a good weedeating.  If you get a chance, go trim some.  Either e-mail me or post up on NMB any trail work done so we’ll know where it needs more work.
And PLEASE, bring a friend.  I’ve seen a bunch of new faces at Shutes lately.  It’s a fun and challenging place to ride, and it right in our backyard.  It’s truly amazing what has become of a forgotten piece of land.
See you in three weeks!  And print the flyer below and pass around a few.

Steve (Caveman)

PS – we’ll have some give-a-ways to be drawn during lunch plus a surprise.
