What great day to build a trail. Sunday January 22nd IMBA-SORBA Middle TN hosted a party of 25 trail volunteers and gave birth to phase 1 of the Cane Ridge Park Mountain Bike Trail. This 2.2 mile section is the beginning leg of a proposed 9 mile trail system in Davidson County’s southeastern border to Rutherford county line, just off Battle Road. Let’s see….how can we double the amount of mountain bike singletrack in Middle TN? Well, for a couple of years we have been working on taking area trails from a total 50 miles to over 100 miles by 2015. That’s only 4 years and tons of funding and volunteer sweat equity is required to make this happen. IMBA-SORBA, with local governments will make this happen with your support. EVENT POSTPONED!! Update 6/23/2011
Due to the unforseeable string of wet weather, we are moving this event to July 9, 10. July 9 the Festival and Kid’s race, July 10th the Harpeth Bikes 50 miles of Hamilton Creek. I think it will be too wet for this to be a success. Our goal is to have this race in dry conditions and having it this weekend will be impossible. In the future for Hamilton Creek events, I will make a rain date part of the original …

For all who are interested Montgomery Bell State park will be hosting a trail work day on 8-28-10 from 9am-11a.
Please come out and help us prepare for the September Race. In addition to help prepare the course for the fall season.
Some projects include clearing brush from trail, tread work, etc.
All help is appreciated. We will meet at the bike trail parking lot at 9am.

SORBA urban ride and social at Hapeth Bikes this coming Friday, Aug 6th at 5:30pm. This event will feature some sort of Urban ride or fun time trial at 5:30 followed by pizza, beer and the Ride Accross The Sky movie featuring Lance Armstrong and the Leadville 100 Mnt bike race in 2009 at 7:00pm.
Bring a friend! Bring your bike! Bring you favorite beer mug! You may also want to bring a lawn chair for the movie.
